On a day when Heath Hill desperately needed a win and believed a win was possible, things started well . Walker on his debut latched on to a long kick from the keeper and finished well.
Shortly after he appeared to have added a second after a fine run down the centre of the pitch from Groves, but Walker was adjudged to be offside by the referee.
Shortly after the referee was again the centre of controversy when he very harshly gave a penalty against Stevenson for hand ball. However MacDonald in goal saved the spot kick down to his left hand side.
Unfortunately the influential Tassa was injured and had to be replaced by Bannister. However Bannister did not last long before getting injured himself and Sumari entered play for his debut.
At half time it became evident that Walker was also injured but the Heath Hill manager made the decision to keep Walker on the pitch.
The second half saw Heath Hill under pressure but the defence were dealing well with any threat.
As the half went on and tired legs showed, Calverton gained the upper hand.
The Heath Hill manager decided to stick with the men on the pitch ,rather than introduce fresh legs. The decision backfired and when Tonks fouled a Calverton player on the edge of the box the referee couldn’t wait to give another spot kick.
This time MacDonald dived the wrong way and Calverton had the lead. As Heath Hill pushed for the equaliser Calverton added a third with 5 minutes to go.
Many thanks again today for Jay for his help and understanding.
